Quicken cannot handle when target started adding an empty <REFNUM></REFNUM> into the qfx file.
If you search and replace <REFNUM></REFNUM> with nothing, then the qfx file is able to import again.
I spent a few hours playing with this, and was able to narrow it down to that single field being empty in the newer qfx files from rcam.target.com
Why doesn't Quicken address the REFNUM bug?

Why doesn't Quicken fix the empty <REFNUM></REFNUM> bug (when the tag is empty Quicken complains it can't parse the QFX file)? Seems very simple to fix, instead of making thousands of Quicken users prune this tag from Target QFX files? An empty tag should not confuse Quicken unless it is a required field, which it clearly is not.

I had never heard of this issue before, but I see it goes back to 2018.
Quicken should tolerate the empty tag and just do nothing.
Quicken user since version 2 for DOS, as of 2025 using QWin Premier (US) on Win10 Pro & Win11 Pro on 2 PCs.
