Check pay amount, category, and tag are grayed out

I'm trying to set up a check pay payment but I can't enter the amount as the field is grayed out, as are the category and tag fields. My only option is to use the recent payment out.

I've never seen this happen before.

I'm running Quicken Premier vR51.12 Build 27.1.51.12 on Windows 10 Home v22H2 Build 19045.3324.

    There are a couple of recent discussions on the same subject.
    This appears to be a recent change by the programmers.
    You need to work with the Split categories to establish the current total Amount or, as you said, "Use" the last transaction's Splits.
