Unable to open data file on Mac (QMAC 2016)

I am using Quicken 2016 and as ofthis morning I get an error message that Quicken can't open my data file and to ensure Quicken 2016 is updated to the most current version (3.8.3). I checked the version of my Quicken 2016 and it is version 3.8.3. Any recommendations on how to get my file open (I can't find a backup file).
