Cannot attach PDF receipts
Quicken for Windows will not accept any attachments except jpg/graphic files. If I try to attach a monthly PDF bill or statement, it will not attach.

I also cannot attach any files from my local PC. It acts like everything is ok, but nothing actually attaches. I waited a few days because I thought this would get fixed in the next update, but all they did was change the logo, not fix the attachments. I'm running R52.28 on Windows 11

Attachments are still not working although mod Quicken Anja noted today the issue has been marked as resolved. Windows R52.28 (Build 27.1.52.28)

I am having the same problem, but in addition to not attaching, Quicken freezes and I must close it from Task Manager. I'm not sure how long this has been going on, but the program freezes when I try to attach a PDF or a Word document.

IMHO, there's a pretty good chance that, due to multiple freezes / crashes / Task Manager kills in Quicken, the file system used by the Quicken data file has been corrupted. And if you have more than 2500 attachments on file, you have exceeded an unrecoverable file system limit.
If you haven't done so already, please do the following actions:
• Even if you are on the latest software level already, download and install the latest Manual Patch file from https://www.quicken.com/support/update-and-patch-20182019-release-quicken-windows-subscription-product to ensure your Quicken software is up to date and correctly installed.
• Reboot Windows.
• Start Quicken. Do not run One Step Update.
• Run BOTH Validate and Supervalidate to attempt to repair your Quicken data file.
• If nothing helps, create a copy of your data file giving the file a new name:
File / Copy or Backup File / Create a copy or template. Uncheck "Include … [_] Attachments".
You will create a copy of your file without attachments and you will have to reactivate all your online bank connections, but you should be able to resume running Quicken on the copied file.
