I just tried to sign up to be a beta tester, and at the end I was taken to a survey monkey page. Is this right? I would have expected a Quicken page saying thank you for applying here's what to expect blah, blah, blah.

Firefox on a Mac with an ad blocker.

Thanks for any insight, including what to expect now.

Well, your account is flagged as a beta tester so it looks like you successfully signed up. Welcome!

I don't know what's it's like on the Windows side but there's a Mac beta going on right now that you should be able to participate in. You can download beta Quicken Mac from the link here - that isn't the current beta so you'll want to select Check for Updates on the Quicken menu after it's installed to get updated to the current beta test build. You can run the beta Mac software side by side with regular Quicken, they don't interfere with one another. When there's a new beta you can just update the beta software, you don't have to reinstall it each time.

If you want to beta test using your current data file, it's best to make a copy of it and use that with the beta. There's a "Prepare file for beta testing" command on the File menu that you'll want to run, it changes the cloud account id on the file so it won't interfere with your regular Quicken file. If you download transactions from your financial institutions you'll need to go through & re-enter your login credentials for each account - the beta software has a separate set of keychain entries & can't access the ones used by regular Quicken. But you should only have to do that one time.

There are forums to discuss beta testing here. The subsection for the current Mac beta is here. There are a set of tasks they'd like you to go through that will get you looking at the changes for the next release - as you can see there's been plenty of discussion already but please add your own thoughts.

After beta is over there's usually a survey to fillout. Betas happen every 2-3 months.

Thanks Jon. I did get email a few hours after I posted my message. I think I need to look harder at my settings because when I tried to go back to my post via the "unanswered" link, It wasn't there. Which I assume means you had answered in the interim, and I didn't realize.

I mainly use Quicken via Parallels with the occasional foray into the mac version to see if I'd want to switch yet, so I'll be most valuable checking out the Windows version. Being able to run them side by side will be much nicer than the alternative. I hope it's the same on the Windows side. There doesn't appear to be an active beta there yet.

    Thanks for the info!
