Quicken Mac Mortgage Problem: Balance Adjustment and Payments Adding to Balance

I started my mortgage account with an opening negative balance (red). The principal payment is a transfer transaction from a checking account (payment/cash out) to the mortgage account (green). In the last few months, Q has been creating a balance adjustment that makes my mortgage balance positive (black). IOW, the adjustment is 2 x the absolute value of the mortgage balance. If I delete the adjustment, all looks fine, but I would like to correct any underlying issue. I've tried changing my opening mortgage balance to positive (black), but the principal payments are then added to the balance instead of subtracted. Any help or pointers to solutions would be appreciated. Thank you.
