Suggestion: drag and drop split items
I and possibly other users keep track of future bills and auto-transfers by grouping them into dummy split transactions (each bill is a split line) grouped by intervals between income events. When such a transaction becomes actual, I move the split lines to the next month's group. This requires a Notepad file to hold them for moving.
There would be no need for such a file if the split lines could be dragged by the mouse from one position in a dummy transaction (opened by Ctrl+S) to another, and also from one dummy transaction to another (not yet opened, on the main register). This would be an excellent feature for users, and as far as I know, it would be the first use of drag and drop in the Quicken Classic application software. Other uses may become evident in the future. Here is an example screen:

I doubt anyone other than yourself does this. It strikes me as an abuse of the split transaction feature - not to mention a ton of extra unneeded work. There is no need (or, IMHO any reason at all) to group unrelated future transactions into splits. Either simply enter them as future dated transactions or schedule them as bill and income reminders.

I started out putting them in as separate transactions, but 50 or more were difficult to accommodate without scrolling, and when the application started up, I had to scroll up several pages to see the current transactions. This way at least I have about two thirds of the viewing area actual transactions and one third future ones, so I can see how much money is left in the account just before each income event, so I can tell how much miscellaneous spending the balance can handle.

There is a register preference to make the row spacing smaller, which would enable more rows to show at once. you can also press F11 function to toggle between full screen view and regular view. Full screen view hides some of the area outside of the register, making the register bigger and displaying more rows.
There is another preference that enables you to Show Reminders in Register for several time periods. You could normally have that preference set to Don’t Show Reminders and only toggle to show reminders when you want the full set of bills to show.
