Why is Quicken converting registers to Simple View? Loosing transaction information.

Quicken for Windows R52.28 Build 27.1.52.28

Quick after one of the recent updates is converting reqisters to siple view. When I change it back to Complete Transctions data is lost and many of the Linked transfers from other accounts are brocken. Quicken then puts in place holder transactions to make up the difference.

This is the second time a Quicken update has done this to me. The Fix is to manually go to each linked transfer that is randomly broken and restore it from the originating register. Such as a Pay check. Usually 401k or HSA account transfers links are broken. After restoring the linked transfers you need to go through and delete the place holders that were put in my the update macro.

Quicken for Windows. Please stop changing users register preference settings on updates. I costs us a lot of time!

It's probably a little too late because you may have spent too much time trying to fix the busted data file.

My recommendation would be: when you recognize that something bad has happened to your data file, restore your Quicken data file from an Automatic or Manual Backup taken just before the software update. https://www.quicken.com/support/how-backup-or-restore-your-quicken-data

Also please review your Edit / Preferences / Backup settings to ensure that a backup is taken every [1] time you close Quicken. And do close Quicken when you're done working with it for the day.
