Budget problem

I have just started to budget. One of my entries was "deposit to savings". I normally do a transfer from my checking account to the appropriate savings account every month. But it does not register in the budget. If I change the "transfer" to a "deposit to savings", I really can't enter both entries because that would cause a duplicate expense in the budget. Does anyone have a workaround?

A deposit to savings really doesn't belong in the budget as all you are doing is moving money from one account to another.

That said, if you really want to include it what you need to do is click the Manage Budget Categories button. Then select "Transfers Out". You will then see a bunch of categories like"TO:…" Look for one that is "TO:[Name of your savings account]". Once you add that you will see it at the bottom of your budget screen and can add budget amounts for it.
