Column Widths

How can I assign permanent default column widths for the register and the "Find" results. I am constantly resize both for viewing usability.

When I drag the Quicken screen to expand it, everthing expands. I don't need Check#, Clr and Date to expand.

Would love to know how to do this with reports as well! Columns are so wide in standard reports (not saved ones) and I would simply like them to default to narrower so everything fits on my screen!
