Quicken operates slowly after recent updates

Quicken user for almost 30 years, using the following:

—Latest version of Quicken for Windows on a MacBook Pro (via Parallels)
—Windows 10
—MacBook Pro late-2013 (8 MB RAM) – macOS Catalina 10.15.7
—Parallels for Mac Home Edition 15.1.5

Quicken began operating extremely slowly two or three updates ago. Downloads of account data and stock quotes now take several minutes, and acceptance of a single downloaded transaction into a register takes over a minute to complete, as do manual updates to Portfolio prices.

Here's the question: What is the best path to restore performance, considering the following issues/restrictions:

—If I absolutely must buy a new computer, please so opine, but I am hoping to avoid this.

—Mac operating system Catalina cannot be updated to a later version, because the age of the processor cannot handle the demands of a later operating system.

—If the change that is needed is to purchase a later version of Parallels, what is the earliest version of Parallels that this Mac can handle and that will support the current version of Quicken?
