Some transactions simply will not match

So I have multiple accounts, some debit, some credit, and most match well, a credit from one showing up as a debit in another. A few I've had to do the drag-an-item-on-top-of-another manual match, which has worked. But I have one pair of transactions that simply refuse to match. When I drag one over the other, the other does not highlight. Both transactions are downloaded, and they look just like similar pairs of transactions that manually matched just fine by this drag and drop method - in fact, I did a string of them without any issue, until I reached the final one, which won't match. I've removed and re-added the transfer category information multiple times to no avail. How can I get these to match?

For a transaction which doesn't match, what icon is in the Status column? Blue dot? Blue pencil? Sometimes a transaction won't manually match because it has already matched with another transaction (right or wrong). See if one of the transactions you're trying to match has a blue pencil, or if Control-clicking on it shows your the pop-up menu option to Unmatch Transaction.

If it's only happening on a stray transaction or two, it may simply be easier to delete one of the transactions and more on. 😉
