Nothing to show?

I have used Quicken for over 20 years & am now using Starter Edition since I don’t need all features of the full version. Recently the program started asking for a password but I’ve been able to bypass that screen & log on without one. Yesterday I tried to open the program as usual but it demanded a password. I put in the last one I used. The program didn’t recognize it. I changed the password to what it used to be. The program then opened up but asked for a datafile. I put in the Quicken QDF data file (456 KB) on my hard drive. Now the program comes up but says “Nothing to show.”

I put in the Quicken QDF data file (456 KB) on my hard drive.

Are you sure about the file size? That looks to me like an empty data file and not the one you've been using in the past.

In Quicken, click on File Menu / Find Quicken files and it will list all Quicken files on your current hard drive. Select the one that you really need to use. You may have to restore your data file from a recent backup (file with file type = QDF-backup)

  • There are 5 files in my "Find Quicken Files" folder, and when I try to open the program with any of them I get "Nothing to show." Is it possible that the 1st time I had this issue & exited, it overwrote the backup with nothing? What's in the recycle bin are the same 5 files. I've lost 8 years of data.
