why does my budget has income and personal income categories

I have tried to combine the categories, but they appear to be the same. The budgeting tool separates them for some reason. This question was asked last year, but the answer did not address the problem.

Any suggestions?

In Tools / Category List look at the Category Group field.
In years past new categories came with a default group of Personal Income / Personal Expense.
New categories could be created with groups of Income / Expense.

If you need to move a category from one group to another, use the Options button at the bottom of the Category List view and select "Assign Category Groups".
With a parent category and associated subcategories, all of them should have the same Category Group.

You may want to create a backup of your Quicken data file before you start working on this, just in case something were to go wrong …
