Deletion of Categories

In 2024, I will no longer require a number of Categories I currently use. If I delete these categories (Window > Category), will this effect the items in my Registry?

If you delete a category, it removes that category from any transactions that were using it & leaves them uncategorized. So you only want to delete a category in cases where you want to replace it or merge it with something else (or if you never used it at all).

There's currently no way to hide categories you no longer want to use but also don't want to delete; that's a planned improvement but we don't know when they're going to do it.
