file size doubled after validate

I had a large file after 25 years using quicken, about 335MB. I did a validate file tonight, and the file size is now 617MB. Why does this happen and what can I do about it? Thank you!

    Revert to the old file and try a super-validate (CTRL Shift) again. Do not use the ballooned file.

    This happens to me as well. 290mb file increases to 560mb. It happens whether I do a validate or a super-validate.

    Based on another discussion, I tried doing a File>Copy first and just the copy ended up creating an ~560mb file.

    @JZY and @jnash67
    please capture an image snapshot of the File Information view (click Help, Shift-click About Quicken to get this view).
    Save the image to a JPG, PNG or GIF file. Edit the image to black out the personal User & ID Information block.
    Attach the image to your next comment.

    When working with the file, do you notice anything unexpected or incorrect? For example, when looking at Tools / Manage Bill & Income Reminders, are there lots of Scheduled Reminder entries with a Status = Done and Amount = 0.00?
