Quciken and Charles Schwab accounts are not syncing or downloading transactions

I am having a terrible time linking my Charles Schwab accounts and updating transactions via the Express web connect. I've spent far too much time trying to simply download/update transactions which is something that should be easy to accomplish with this software. The connection rarely works and only after a dozen or so tries to update. I usually having go an reset the account and sign in again to activate one step update. Then after going through the process Quicken "One Step Update" wizard says the account doesn't exist. Then it will sometimes actually make the connection and new transactions will show up. Today I was about to download transactions but now my account balance is off and showing a negative historical balance. There has to be a better way to manage this and I'm looking for suggestions.
