Shares in Mutual Funds suddenly reduced to 1 each?

I manually input the number of shares in each fund in a set of TIAA retirement accounts when I started Quicken. Suddenly they have all reduced to 1 share each, so my total appear to have fallen off a cliff. Is it worth putting the correct numbers of shares in manually once more or will the same thihg happen again maybe with automatic updates?
