Why are the split transaction posts "closed" - I have the same issue but see no solution. (Q Mac)
I recently updated to and am currently using Version 7.4.2 (Build 704.51578.100).
When reviewing my transactions, I noticed that 2 specific split transaction Payees had been changed to uncategorized or to a single category. One was for my mortgage payment which had been specifically separated into principal/escrow/interest (categories that I created as subcategories of Mortgage). This includes transactions dating back to May 2022 to the the present.
The other was for my Cricket Comm phone bill which I had split to show different family members' costs (also different categories). This includes transactions from June 2023.
I tried to restore a backup from before this version update, but it still showed the missing splits. It's hard to say, then, which version might have caused this error. I would guess within the last month.
For me to go back much further with a previous backup would be time consuming, given the manual transactions I input for cash purchases and foreign bank transactions.
Please research the cause so this doesn't happen in the future. If I manually "fix" the 24 transactions, I don't want all my effort to be in vain. It seems like I'm not the only one experiencing this, given the "closed" posts dealing with the same type of issue.
I, too, am a long-time Quicken user. This type of unsolved problem reduces trust in your product.
