Why do reference numbers and notes disappear when I press enter after recording the transaction?

I use R53.16 Quicken Classic Canada for Windows 11
When I am entering a transaction, I type in the reference number and note (if they are applicable) as part of the entry. When I hit enter, this information is gone and I need to re-enter it. If it is a transfer, I need to re-enter it on both sides of the transaction.

I can't confirm since I am currently on an older (US) version, but that sounds like it might have related to this issue:
But that was supposedly fixed in R52.19 (US release).

I have had this problem since I started using Quicken in 2012. It also happens if I am downloading a new transaction and try to add in this information before I hit enter. I have never seen a release note that attempted to correct it in the Canadian releases.
