Quicken changes my split transaction amounts

This is about QW classic deluxe, latest update. Possibly other versions, too.

I enter a split mortgage loan transaction in a bank cash account. For the sake of example, say total payment is $100. The split categorizes $20 as transfer to a property loan account (also in Quicken) and categorizes $80 as mortgage interest.

I then open the loan account and see the $20 payment which reduces the loan balance. Very much as expected. I then change this $20 line item's "cleared status" to Reconciled and save.

I go back to the cash account, observe the loan payment transaction (split). Two symptoms:

a) Quicken changed the total transaction amount to only $20; and

b) Opening the split itself, Quicken added a -$80 amount as a third line, effectively cancelling the mortgage interest part of that transaction.

I click "Adjust". The Quicken-created extra negative amount disappears, the total transaction amount reverts to the correct $100. I save.

For grins, I again go to the loan account, change the line item from Reconciled to 'Uncleared' and save. Same symptom / same problem repeats as above.

To summarize: changing the 'Cleared status' of a line item that originates in a split loan transaction, prompts Quicken to modify on its own the original split transaction's total by inserting irrelevant amounts.

This should not happen.

Did others observe this symptom? Is it a know problem and if so what is the fix ?
