quicken behaving oddly?

I use Quicken Classic for Windows. Over the past few days, it has begun doing all sorts of very odd things. In addition to the delay in running the one-step update, transactions over the past few weeks (from bank accounts, credit card accounts, and securities transactions) seem to disappear at random when I update or even just close out and reopen the file. I've backed up, started a new data file, and reentered the transactions countless times, and am beginning to lose my mind. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Any thoughts? Thanks!

Have no answer, but questions; Do you use the Quicken App on your phone and have it synched to your main computer? That will allow use on both and both keep updated.

I ask because the last several times I upgraded Quicken it resulted in several , but not all, entries in all accounts being duplicated. At present I have synch turned off for a new Upgrade that's installed and a bit leary of turning synch back on.

I don't use it on the phone and have synch turned off. (I had run into a similar problem before, though, which is why I stopped using the app and turned off synch.)

Update: It actually might not be tied to synching, but instead when I open Quicken, it seems to open a prior data file. Is it possible that I tripped a setting that leads it to open an older backup version, rather than the current file? Argh….
