Which Quicken executable are you wanting to block?
Personally, I block quickenPatch.exe so that it can't run the patch update program without my explicit permission. The downside is that some days, the first time I try to start Quicken, it fails because of the block, but the second try succeeds. Having Quicken check for updates from the Help menu will always fail, but since I know when a new release is available because of my involvement on this forum, that is not an issue either.
