Covered Call Closing Transactions

When I do a covered call Quicken reports it correctly as a short sale. But when the option expires worthless if the strike price is not reached, the closed options transaction is downloaded as Shares Added. In order to eliminate a duplicate listing of shares in my Holding list I need to edit the transaction and change the Shared Added to Covered Short Sale. Then I need to delete the Shares Added from the downloaded transactions. If I close a covered call and buy the call back prior to expiration the transaction that is downloaded is correct. It shows Covered Short Sale and the amount paid to buy back the option. If they can get this right why can't they get an option expiration correct?

Who is "they"? Probably your brokerage sending the wrong transaction type.

Quicken user since version 2 for DOS, now using QWin Premier (US) on Win10 Pro.
