When reconciling I cannot amend the adjustment transaction (Q Mac)

When doing a reconciliation, and I have a balance removing, I want to simply enter that using the adjustment button. I select the payee / category (Interest Earned / Interest Earned) and save the balancing entry.

When I look back however, the entry is recorded as Reconcile Adjustment / Adjustment.

I try to amend directly in the register, but it doesn't change. If the option to select payee / category is available on the reconciliation page, why won't it store what I've selected.
