Any first hand experience with a M3 iMac + Parallels running Quicken for Windows. How much RAM is required? Does it work?

I'd like to buy a new iMac and am not sure how much RAM I need.

Any practical experience or knowledge would be much appreciated.

Thanks

I haven't done this, but I'd say get a minimum of 16GB (that's what Parallels recommends). If all you want to do with Parallels is run Quicken Windows then that should be sufficient.

I was going to say the same thing as @Jon: 16 GB.

But it depends on what you do on your Mac. If you typically have 15 programs open, 50 browser tabs open, and do video editing while working in Quicken, you might want more than 16 GB. 😂

Side note: I recently upgraded my MacBook Pro to an M3. None of my Parallels Windows machines will run on it. If you're running an older version of Parallels, you need to update to the current version and install the ARM based version of Win11 Pro or Enterprise. If you don't have a Windows license that covers one of those versions, you'd need a new Windows license.
