I buy a stock in my investment account, money removed but no stock shows as owned

Q for the Mac. 7.5.0. Say I buy a stock in my investment account as usual with buy for $1,000 by listing the stock and amount and # of shares and hit enter as usual. Always works just fine except … The amount is deducted from the cash in my account ($1,000 in this example) but the stock does not show as owned and the total in my account just drops by $1,000 cash. What is happening? Why does the purchased stock not show?

@Kevin1818 I too once had this problem and it was because I wrongly coded the stock as an index. Please go to Windows → Securities and make sure that the Type is correct. You should also check that the transaction date is not some future date.

This should solve the problem.
