Show Characters Security Code

Financial institutions which have implemented two-factor authentication solicit a security code for downloading transactions during an update. The Quicken implementation of this feature presents an Account Access window for entering the code delivered to the user via text or email, but the window, by default, masks the code as it is entered by the user, unless the user first checks the "Show characters" checkbox option. This masking default is unnecessary, as it offers no added degree of security since the code is volatile and cannot be re-used, yet the masking must be manually overridden. In effect, the masking default only increases the probability of a processing delay should the user commit an undetected entry error.

I recommend that Show characters be the default condition for security code entry.
