Write Check for IRA removes check number and won't post
I am on Windows 11 latest version using Quicken Deluxe Version R54.9 Build 27.1.54.9.
When I write a check from my IRA to a charity, I am able to select the next check number which is the correct number. When I click Enter/Done, the check number is removed and the transaction will not post. It says I have to enter a check number. The same thing happens when I type the check number in.
After trying a bunch of things, it finally posted but I can't remember exactly what I did that time because I was getting crazy by then. When I looked at the register, it had entered the check twice, once without the check number and once with the check number. I deleted the transaction that did not have the check number. When I looked at the remaining transaction, the check number was no longer on it. I was able to enter the check number and save it.
So now my register is correct but I would like to have it work right the first time.
I am selecting the Payee which fills in the category and amount. Could it be something wrong with the memorized payee?
Is anyone else having this same problem? It has been going on prior to the Quicken release that I am on now.

I have only recently started writing paper QCD checks from an IRA. I am not seeing your problem at all. My checks enter correctly and stay correct. Are you hand writing paper checks or sending money via some online channel?
