When I Started Quicken It Began A Software Update Which Appears To Be Looping
Windows 10
Product Version: 27.1.54.9
Modified: 01/19/24
I clicked on the Quicken icon to start it. It said it had an update and to choose the userid for the update. I chose an administrator userid.
The update is taking a long time and appears to be CPU bound:
The status bar has been stuck at the same point for over 30 minutes:
If I kill the update, will I have to reinstall Quicken? If I reinstall, will I lose all of my customizations?

If that process is still running, tab thru the open applications and see if there's a window open in the background with a message about "UpdateIcons stopped working" or similar text. Close this window, ignore the problem and the Quicken installation process should finish.
If you have canceled the process already, download and install the latest Manual Patch file from https://www.quicken.com/support/update-and-patch-20182019-release-quicken-windows-subscription-product
to make sure the software is correctly installed. Watch for the UpdateIcons error during installation. If it happens again, close the popup window and proceed.1 -
The update was still running. No "UpdateIcons stopped working" message in the background.
Tried to install the latest Manual Patch and it said I already had it.
