Split Data missing from checking account deposits (manually entered)

This is a real concern. I have quit doing any synchronization. I noticed that tax data from the deposits made in the checking account were deleted.

Why is this overwriting my data. I thought it was only to transfer data to my registers and allow me to determine if i wanted it to merge or not, by transaction. It has always preserved my entries that would separated the tax entries from income.

I noticed a great deal of discussion on this site about this topic.

I have spent a lot of time restoring my data from backup and re entering the information from about a month ago.

Does anyone know if this has been fixed or not?
