"Add an attachment" fails silently
I posted about this previously, but apparently didn't include enough information. That thread is now closed.
This is regarding the sequence:
"Add an attachment" —> [Opens "Transaction Attachments" dialog] —> "Add" —> [Opens right click dialog] —> "Add file…"
Once upon a time, if the specified file was open in another application Quicken put up a dialog to indicate that the file was open, and to close it.
Recent versions of Quicken simply don't do anything if the file is open in another application. It would be infinitely more user friendly if Quicken were to report an error as it used to.

Hello @mrb0820,
Would you mind providing more information regarding the issue that you are experiencing? What do you mean by "fails silently"? What exactly is failing? Adding an attachment to a transaction?
Thanks!

I understand what he is saying. He is saying that when you go to attach a file to an entry, you click Add, then Add File (and the file is already open in windows.) nothing happens, "failing Silently". There is no prompt to close the open file and thus allow the attachment to proceed. Instead of a prompt to close open file, there is nothing and the file doesn't attach. So you are left thinking Quicken is a poor product because it won't attach a file.
Quicken needs to add an error prompt to Close The Open File, when attaching.
