Today's Balance and Online Balance never match

I use Quicken Classic Premier on a Mac. I download transactions on my checking account using the built in update function. There is always a significant variance (always less) between what Quicken displays as Today's balance and the Online Balance or what is shown when I log into my bank's online portal. I do not manually enter any transactions so it can't be something hasn't cleared at the bank. Is there something I can do to get this corrected because I end up having to look at the online balance option to see the actual balance. It kind of defeats the purpose of using this as a register.

Please help with ideas on how to correct. Do I need to manually make an adjustment to get the balances to match?
