trouble reconciling a brokerage statement

I had to delete my brokerage account and reinstall and re-download the account. No problem with that and the balances are all fine. However, I wanted to reconcile to my last monthly statement. In trying to do so, it shows a big error even though the balance on the screen is correct!! Again, beginning cash balance was zero and the ending balance is balance accurately reflected. When I try to reconcile the account, Quicken does NOT accept that balance. It overstate my cash balance significantly. Updating cash balance did not help either. Please HELP.

"I had to delete my brokerage account and reinstall and re-download the account."

This is a drastic and typically iladvised method to resolve account balance issues. To better assist resolving your issue, it would help if you describe what you are trying to correct.

@dmilberg try these things, and then try the reconciliation again -

    • While in the register, click on any transaction, then do a [Ctrl+Shift+Z] to recalculate transactions.
    • Reboot your computer, and then restart Quicken.
    • Do a validate and super validate on your data fille.

    Validate:

    1. Go to File in Menu Bar
    2. Click Validate and Repair File...
    3. ChecK Validate File
    4. Click OK
    5. Close the Data Log

    Super Validate:

    1. Go to File in Menu Bar
    2. Hold CTRL + Shift and click Validate and Repair File...
    3. Check Super Validate File
