Quicken won't enter rent transactions, need to delete tenant to work

Second time I've encountered this. Quicken all of a sudden won't enter rent transactions to the corresponding account. It would allow me to enter rent transactions via the Rental Property tab, but would not update the account where the rent should be entered.
I only know of one solution: delete the tenant and add a new one. I'm not happy with this workaround, though, as it results in my accounts having "John Doe 2" or "Jane Doe 3" as payees and I don't like that.
