[Removed - Profanity] Why hasn't Quicken fixed this problem already — many other people are having it. I'm about to leave Quicken for good.

I am not familiar with the 1706 error but I found some information via Copilot. Some of the resolution suggestions may not apply, but other ones might be worth a try -
To resolve Error 1706, follow these steps:
- Repair the Program:
- Go to the Control Panel on your computer.
- Look for the program that is causing the error.
- Right-click on it and choose Repair.
- Follow the prompts to complete the repair process.
- Check the Installation Source:
- The error occurs when the original installer package is missing or inaccessible.
- Locate the installation source (usually a CD, DVD, or downloaded setup file).
- Make sure it’s available and accessible.
- If you downloaded the program, try redownloading it and reinstalling.
- Clean Up Temporary Files:
- Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog.
- Type %temp% and press Enter.
- Delete all files and folders in the Temp directory.
- Restart your computer.
- Update Windows:
- Make sure your Windows operating system is up to date.
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
- Click Check for updates and install any available updates.
- Check for Registry Issues:
- Use a reliable registry cleaner tool to scan for and fix any registry issues.
- Be cautious when editing the registry; create a backup before making any changes.
- Reinstall the Program:
- If none of the above steps work, uninstall the program causing the error.
- Download the latest version from the official website and reinstall it.
I have also read that the 1706 error is not a software specific issue, but an issue that involves the Windows installer.
