Cleared balance does not agree with total of charges/debits; how can this be?

Debits (cleared) show $1375.13 while cleared balance shows $1448.49. How can this be? When I copy and paste those debits into Excel they equal the expected amount of $1375.13.

Quite simply, either you've got a missing transaction (or more than 1), OR you've checked something(s) that fall outside the range of whatever you're reconciling to.

What's the Ending date of the statement that you're reconciling to?

Thanks but nope.

The error was an opening balance (1996) somehow (!!!) changed from zero to 73.36. Changed that and everything is sweet.

Have you recently changed the download method into the account (Say, Direct Connect to Express Web Connect as an example)?

Changing the Opening Balance in an account is a known bug in Q … which is why it's suggested that you go thru and input the CORRECT OB into the memo field of each banking (including Card) account so that you've got a easy way to determine how to fix this, if it occurs again.

yeah - it appears that Quicken randomly changes the Opening Balance of accounts…
Suggest copying the actual Opening Balance into the Memo field of the first transaction - for safe keeping -

Also - sometimes balances are off due to Pending Transactions - that may, or may not, be included in the Online Balance -
