How do I remove old investment holdings that have reappeared?

I'm using Quicket Classic for Windows, R55.15. Beginning on March 23rd old investments are showing up in my Holdings tab, some dating back to 2011 or earlier. They don't show up on the 22nd, but if I change the "As of" date to 3/23/2024 then I see 9 old investments that I no longer hold. All of them have a share balance - in many cases a negative balance, eg. -296.46056 shares of AllianceBernstein, which I sold in 2011.

Help! How do I fix this.

Go to Edit > Preferences > Investments and make sure the Show hidden transactions box is checked. This will reveal any Placeholders in your account.

Is there a Placeholder on 3/23 that is causing this share balance issues?

This might have been added automatically if you recently re-connected your account for downloading.

I’d make sure about a good current backup, and then go the file validate path including the rebuild lots option (but not the rebuild prices).
