New Navy Federal Sync Protocol Issues

When I opened Quicken the other day, it prompted me Navy Federal now has a new way to sync data and that I would be required to set it up. I did so, and now all my Checking account transactions are downloaded into my Checking Line of Credit section. What can be done to fix this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having similar issues. I have over 20 years of data in Quicken so I really don't want to mess this up.

First, I learned I had to turn off my SurfShark VPN to get through the login process with NFCU via Quicken. That was easy.

According to the instructions, you have to go through the connection update process for each account at NFCU. In my case, I have 9 different accounts between Savings, Checking, CDs, IRA, Line of Credit, etc. So I've been doing this now for close to 2 hours and I'm still getting the message that there's a new registration process each time I try to go through the update accounts process. I select all accounts each time as the instructions state.

I now have what appears to be 3 accounts not reconciling properly. 2 of then are now duplicated. I tried linking all the accounts to existing accounts and these 3 appear to be problematic. One of them was new and yet it does not show the correct balance in the account. The other 2 are existing and I cannot get them to link. This is very frustrating as I do not want to add them as new accounts since I don't want to lose my categories and memos for each of the transactions in each account.

I hope we get clearer instructions that work soon!

Latest update. It keeps wanting to add the Line of Credit (Debt account in Quicken) and my NFCU Checking Account (Checking account in Quicken) as new accounts. I select the "Link to" option each time. This does not happen with the other accounts. And then the IRA account which is listed as a Traditional IRA in my Retirement/Investment section in Quicken, just drops the account balance to zero on March 18 with no transactions shown. Yet my online account balance in the NFCU IRA is correct and all transactions are there.

For the Line of Credit, when I try to Link it to the existing account it already created, it will not show the account on the "Link to" list. So it creates a new account each time and when it does so, it calls it "Checking Line of Credit 2" and populates the account with my NFCU Checking account transactions for the past 2 years.

For the NFCU Checking account, I can't be sure it is downloading correctly but it is showing it as a linked account. I will have to check after a couple of items clear to see it it works properly.

Bottom line: I suspect finger pointing between Quicken and Navy Federal. If Quicken is going to offer this as a service, then they should take the lead to facilitate resolution of the issue and until it is resolved, they should suspend the downloading feature. It's just too risky to completely mess up the transactions we have in our Quicken databases now.

This probably won't be of much help but after I got past the browser problem, when I was back in Quicken, I went through the "link to existing" process for all my 9 accounts. I verified that the correct account was linked (this takes several clicks through drop down menu for each account) and thought I had it right. The process completed and all accounts now showed Express Web Connect+ under Online Services. This included one account that was previously a manual account that I was able to link during this process. Unfortunately, I had reversed a couple 1yr term accounts so they were incorrectly linked. To correct this, I deleted the downloaded transactions for those two accounts and also the online setup info (deactivated the account link as well as deleted the account numbers and Navy Federal from the FI data section of account info (through the gear). After that I used one of those accounts to activate online service and was able to correctly link both accounts. One good result is that it appears 2 factor auth is no longer required.
