Rent updates in Rent Center

When I send out new leases to existing tenants, I want to update the rental amount and date info in Quicken. If I enter the new information before the start date of the new lease, Quicken ignores the existing lease info and shows the apartment as vacant in the Rent Center. Is there any work around for this?
