Mobile sync freezes desktop (windows, Quicken Classic)

for the last week, OSU has frozen the desktop requiring a windows “end task”. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with Quicken Support who thought the issue was my datafile. Following that line of reasoning, i created a new file and unfortunately the same problem reappeared same day. ARGH!
After resetting the original cloud file, I’ve since determined that it appears transaction entered on the iPad are not syncing back to the desktop. The opposite though does seem to work, I.e. desktop will update the cloud and the mobile app.
any recommendations? I’m at my wits end since I really want to be able to enter and modify transactions on the mobile app. Been using quicken since 1986 and am ready to walk.
