I'm on Quicken Classic Starter, Version 7.6.1, macOS 14.4.1. Just today, the Balance column disappeared, and there isn't a Balance column available either on the task bar or on the Columns icon on the screen's bottom. What can be done to have it reappear?

The Balance column only appears for individual accounts. Make sure you have an account selected in the sidebar and not an account group. This can be an easy mistake to make if you have accounts named "Checking" or "Savings" since Quicken has account groups with the same names.

In this picture, there's both a Checking account (in blue) and a Checking account group (in gray). Only the Checking account will show the balance column.

And to make sure you're seeing all the individual accounts (not hidden in a collapsed group), click the three dot (…) icon at the top of the sidebar and select "Expand All Sidebar Groups".

Thanks for the replies. The problem was that I didn't have the individual account highlighted, only the Checking or Savings group.
