Which Quicken files do I need to keep (edit)
After using Q for decades and backing up my hard drive religiously, I have Q files all over the place.
Which ones do I actually need? I'd like to have the main file in the Quicken folder on my c:/Documents/Quicken drive, with backups in the C:/Documents/Quicken/Backup folder which would then get backed up to an external SSD weekly.
Which files by extent do I need to keep?

for your Manual Backup files - you should use the [x] ADD DATE and [x] ADD TIME option for the filename -
else you get the same name saved all over the place -0

Assuming that your on a current (say, within 10 years) version of Q, the file ending in .QDF is your data file and the only one that your ABSOLUTELY must have.
Any ending in .QDF-Backup (possibly with a date extension) should be kept for whatever period you feel comfortable with. BUT, I'd move them OFF of your harddrive. Should your harddrive fail, and take the QDF with it, you wouldn't want to lose your backups also.
What other files (file extensions) do you have?
