How to hide an obsolete account ?

I have a credit card account that is obsolete but I do not want to close it.

I have unchecked all the boxes in Display Settings but it will not remove itself from the account bar.

This always worked before.

    Is that a typo?

You said that you have unchecked all the boxes, you need to check the box "Hide account name in account bar and account list" to get it off of the Account bar. And you probably want "Hide in transaction entry lists" too.
