Quicken Classic for Mac Deluxe

Version 7.7.1 (Build 707.53346.100)

Mac 14.4.1

One of my brokerage accounts will not let me open the ‘transactions’ view. No action at all when clicking on transaction menu. ‘Dashboard’ and Portfolio work fine.

It sounds like you have this account set to Simple Tracking, where transactions are not compiled. Click on the account then Accounts > Settings, and look to see which radio button is selected for Investment Tracking Method. To have transactions, "Detailed" must be selected.

If your account is set up to download from the brokerage, and if "Detailed" is grayed out, it means that transaction downloads are not available for your current connection method. Depending on the financial institution it may be possible to switch to a different connection method: go to the account Settings Download tab and switch your connection method from Quicken Connect to Direct Connect — but not all brokerages offer this. Or you may be able to switch to Web Connect, where you go to the brokerage website, download transactions as a QFX or Quicken data file, and import that file into Quicken. Or you can disconnect downloading, which will change the tracking method from Simple to Detailed, and enter transactions in this account manually.
