Why can't I create a Project/job for my Customer?

Hi,

I signed new work with a new customer, I use master service agreements and task order; I need to add the task order to all billing. I assumed, like with QuickBooks where I would create a customer job, I would create a customer project in Quicken H&B. When I try to create the Project, I am not able to select the new customer.

My assumption is that it is a bug, and until I have an actual invoice or expense transaction for this new customer, I can't add a project.

Is this bug confirmed officially?

Quickbooks is advanced bookkeeping. Quicken is bookkeeping 101.

AFAIK, you need to have a customer in your Customer Invoices account register first. Create the first invoice, give it a new Project/Job name while you do so. That should really be all you need.

Thanks for the confirmation; you can't create a project, the horse, without an invoice, the cart.

"When I try to create the Project, I am not able to select the new customer."

I have no problem creating a new Project for a Customer that has no invoices (or transactions of any kind). In fact, I have no problem creating a new Project and creating the new Customer during the Project creation process, by just keying the new Customer name in the "New Project/Job" Customer dropdown.

I did my testing in both R56.9 and R57.16.

Can you post the exact steps you take?
