Reports for Mac
I have been using Quicken since 1994, first Windows and now Mac. I don't quite understand how the Mac reports are compiled. Firstly, if I want a report for the last 12 months what is the start and end date? Secondly, if I want a report for the last 7 days why is there only one figure. Surely there should be a figure for 7 days ago and todays amount. Clearly, there are basic questions or am I completely missing something. I have other questions on reports but thought I would address the most basic and easiest to comprehend first.

When you select a date range for a report in the Edit Report dialog box, it literally shows you the exact start & end dates:
And it's also shown on the report itself:
The same thing is printed on the report if you print it.
I'll admit that the use of the word "Last" is a bit inconsistent when picking a date range. If you select one of the Last 7/14/30/60/90 Days or Last 12 Months ranges, the ending date is today, but if you select Last Month, Last Quarter, or Last Year the end date is not today but the last day of the preceding month, quarter, or year. I think that's why those two sets of date ranges are separated in the list of possible date ranges.
As for whether there should be a figure for the start date, that depends on the specific report. Some reports that doesn't make any sense - if I run a Category Summary report showing how much I spent in each category each month, there is no "start" value for that. On the other hand, if I run a Net Worth by Month report for the year to date, it does create a column showing my net worth on December 31st of the previous year, creating a start value for this year's net worth.
Which reports are you specifically concerned about?

Jon,
It appears that I have been using the wrong report, ie graph. This helps.
Thanks,
Phil.
