show dividends from brokerage account

My brokerage account shows dividends with descripion _divinc but i csn't figure out how to categorize as dividend income

    _DivInc IS the category. It's one of the special categories that Q uses for investment txn.

    Have you chosen, in the Income/Expense report to include that category?

    And which specific report are you looking at for this info? Because those txn show in my I & E as "Dividends".

    Also, is the div cash remaining in your Q brokerage acct … or are you showing it in a "Linked Checking Acct"? If the latter, did you include that acct in the report?

    If you look at the … Tools - Category List - Investment -
    you can see the 2 entries for Divs….
    and their associated tax line items for the Tax Planner - "_DivInc" and "_DivIncTaxFree" -

    @abacus _DivIncTaxFree is for those somewhat unusual instances where an investment in a taxable account pays a Div that's tax-free.

    It's NOT for Divs paid in a non-taxable acct, such as an IRA. In a non-taxable acct, the acct status covers the taxability issue.

    Same for the _IntIncTaxFree category, also those are much more common (e.g., Muni bonds).
