Vanguard Cash Plus Account - Difficulty Reconciling

MY VG CP acct has gotten way out of balance recently. Does anyone have any suggestions or tips on how to keep these type of accts reconciled? Every time you add money to the acct you purchase an equal amount of shares at $1.00 value and when you withdraw money you sell an equal amount of shares at $1.00… however I guess quicken doesn't always handle these transactions the same way the brokerage (VG) does. Therefore, this acct is always a problem to keep reconciled. Should I just delete the acct and start over using Quiucken's "Simple- Positions Only" Tracking Method? Pros & Cons of this "simple" method for cash plus accts? I don't care how many shares I have since the share amount should always match the cash balance anyway.

Part of the problem is that Vanguard does not handle Cash Plus transaction downloads like they do their money market funds. They report interest earned as if it is a security, but the buys/sells are inconsistent with respect to downloads.

I chose to delete the Cash Plus buy/sells and just treat it as cash but let the interest get credited to the security. Additionally, I used the option to show cash in a linked checking account. That allows me to use the cash flow projection feature associated with spending accounts.
