How can I have expense categories show in numerical order in the budget reports?
My expense categories are in numerical order and grouped with tags. When I do spend reports by category, the categories are listed in alphabetical order. However, when I do budget reports the categories are in alphabetical order by tag. I would like the budget reports to display in the same order as income and expense reports.
Also, it would be nice to subtotal the groups in the budget reports.
Need your help! Thank You,

When you say "in numerical order", are those numbers the 1st characters in the Cat name?

Yes, the first characters are numbers in the category names.

So are they listed alphabetically or by the number? A number is not a letter. And did you use a 2 digit number (or more) at the beginning like 01xxxx, 02xxxx etc? Otherwise it won't sort right if it's only like 1, 2,…..10, 11. Can you post a shot of your category list?

Here is how the categories are numbered/named: 40000 Salary, 40500 Health Insurance, etc. The 40000s are one group, the 42000s another group, etc. The 40000 group is named ELDERS, the 42000 group is name TRUSTEES, etc. As the original post states expense reports list the categories in their numerical order, however the budget reports list the categories by their alphabetized group name. I was on the phone with support for at least one hour doing screen share. They went through all different settings and could not get the budget reports to display the categories in order by their numbered/name. Support suggested to post on community and said they would keep looking for solutions. I believe the software isn't designed yet in budget reporting to sort properly yet. I hope I am wrong.

The 43000s are in the EDUCATION group, so in the budget reporting the 43000s show before the 40000s because EDUCATION comes alphabetically before ELDERS. Hope this further explanation helps.
